TNM SUPER LEAGUE
Despite Karonga United looking more dangerous when going towards the Mzuni fc goal in the opening minutes of the first half, it was Mzuni who found the goal through Lughindiko Mushani in the 35th minute of the first half.
Mzuni are now third with 16 points from nine games and they are only three points behind leaders Silver Strikers who are topping the standings with 19 points from the same number of games.
In another Super League game played on Sunday, Civo United recovered from their disappointing trip to the north last week with a 1 nil win over Max Bullets who are still winless in this season’s Malawi flight league.
Raphael Phiri scored the lone goal of the match at Civo stadium in Lilongwe to help Civo move to position 8. The Lilongwe based side is now tied on points with Bullets who are ranked 7th on the table.
Max Bullets have now lost six times and drawn four times in eight Super League outings and they have only managed to collect 4 points from a possible 33.
Elsewhere, Peter Mponda’s Wizards beat Dwangwa United 1 nil after Bernard Chimaimba scored in the seventh minute of the match.
The win moved them to tenth with 10 points, two points above Nomads who were on bye this week after sending more than 3 players to the Malawi national team.
